Peugeot 206 1.4 petrol engine management problem when cold.?

Hi, my 1998 Peugeot 206 1.4 petrol has developed a problem. The engine either revs too much or dies when the engine is cold. After about 5-10 minutes it settles down and runs perfectly. Could it be the Lambda probe needs replacing or perhaps another engine sensor. Can you help?
