Why is it so hard to believe?

Ok so on a question a few minutes ago I was asked to state my IQ and political affiliation. I said my IQ is in 170s (which it is) and I noticed many others put high IQs as well. Then I saw that some people said those who posted high IQs were lying about it. Why is it hard to believe that people can have high IQs or genius IQ?
