I'm growing hydroponicaly. can i illuminate the bushes sideways?

Illuminating plants from the side causes the plants to grow in that particular direction. The plants will lean in that direction, and the leaves will all turn toward it. Its better to illuminate from the top, and to keep moving either your plants or the light around.
